France’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose 1.3% in 2019, showing a decrease from 1.78% in 2018. The building sector expanded very little in 2019: new housing rose a mere 0.8%, even though the number of new single-family homes rose 5%. The non-residential construction sector grew 5.1%, and the renovation sector increased by a mere 0.2%.
