Japanese RAC Market Growing to 10-million-unit Scale

According to data from the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association (JRAIA), Japan’s room air conditioner (RAC) shipments in 2019 reached 9.81 million units, up 1.7% from 9.65 million units in 2018. It can be said that the annual sales volume of the Japanese RAC market has entered a phase with a 10-million-unit scale. The Japanese RAC market scale was about 5 million units around 1990 and 8 million units in 2010. What factors lay behind this large growth to about 10 million units?
