7.2 Centrifugal & Screw Compressors

The centrifugal compressor has a history of nearly 100 years since it was developed in 1922 in the United States, and now is core equipment used for large chillers and process cooling and heating in industrial applications. Recently, as buildings have become larger and urban development has been progressing, demand for centrifugal chillers has been increasing, and these chillers represent about 30% of world chiller demand in terms of value. In particular, demand for centrifugal chillers in the China market has nearly tripled over the past decade.
