Musings on HVAC&R -- AC- and Heat Pump-related Books around the World

When the general public in Japan is asked “Why do air conditioners cool?”, in many cases, the answer is “I don’t know”. If you look for books on air conditioning and heat pumps in bookstores in Japanese towns, they are few and far between. Even large bookstores selling specialized books in Tokyo have only about half a dozen books on air conditioners and heat pumps.
