1. Rechi Adds a 2-million-unit Rotary Compressor Production Line in Taiwan
Since last year, Rechi has invested 230 million new Taiwan dollars (NT$) (US$ 7.5 million) in order to add an automatic production line for rotary compressors at its Guanyin plant in Taoyuan, with an annual production capacity of 2 million units, which mainly supply packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) and unitary systems in North America.

2. Bangkok RHVAC 2019 Focuses on Four Themes — Environment, Energy, IAQ, and IoT
The 12th Bangkok RHVAC was simultaneously held with the eighth Bangkok Electric and Electronics Bangkok E&E 2019 from September 25 to 28, 2019. A large number of local and overseas HVAC&R equipment and parts manufacturers are concentrated in Thailand, making the country the second-largest exporter of air conditioning equipment in the world after China. Many manufacturers have set up production bases in Thailand. Such manufacturers include local manufacturers, the Japanese manufacturers and South Korean manufacturer are engaged in fierce competition.

3. MCP Stages Grand Event to Celebrate Its Successful 30-year History
Mitsubishi Electric Consumer Products (Thailand) (MCP) held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Now, MCP has become the largest overseas production base of the Mitsubishi Electric Group with 6,500 employees. MCP supplies 5 million air conditioners annually to more than 140 countries and regions. In MCP’s shipment plan for fiscal year 2019 (ending March 2020), Europe has the top position in the shipment destinations with a share of over 30%, followed by Asia with 26%.

4. globalFACT Promotes Advanced Climate Technologies that Protect the Global Environment
During the 25th International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) International Congress of Refrigeration (ICR2019) held in Montreal, Canada, in August, Jordan Smith, executive director of the Global Forum for Advanced Climate Technologies (globalFACT), hosted a seminar. On this occasion, JARN interviewed him to hear about the organization’s profile and mission.

5. Musings on HVAC&R - Improving Air Quality with RACs
The main function of air conditioners is to create a comfortable thermal environment by regulating the indoor temperature and humidity. In addition, functions to improve air quality have been developed to further improve people’s comfort and health, and these features have been built into many air conditioner products available in Japan.
