Fan Motors and Instrumentation

2019-10-24
A fan motor, as the name indicates, refers to a motor that drives the fan’s blade. Fans are divided into several types according to factors such as the required air flow rate, static pressure, blowout direction, and noise. General fan types include axial, mixed flow, centrifugal, and cross flow that are used specifically according to their respective purposes. In the case of air conditioners, axial fans are mainly used for the outdoor units of split-type room air conditioners (RACs), mixed flow fans are employed for the outdoor units and also 4-way ceiling-cassette type indoor units of variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, and centrifugal fans are used for the indoor units of ducted-type air conditioners and the indoor side of window-type RACs.
