1. Chinese AC Manufacturers Accelerate Factory Construction in Southeast Asia
Recently, two well-known Chinese air conditioner manufacturers announced that they have built new production bases in Southeast Asia to speed up their development in overseas markets.  Chinese labor costs are continuously increasing. In addition, global trade barriers are likely to reduce the profits of Chinese manufacturers. Therefore, Chinese manufacturers have begun to construct factories in overseas countries in order to continue to make a profit.

2. Mitsubishi Electric e-Series chillers Cool an Arena in UK
The M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, the United Kingdom, which hosts audiences of up to 11,000, now benefits from energy-efficient systems thanks to the installation of 46 Mitsubishi Electric e-Series modular chillers.
The solution comprises cooling only 90-kW e-Series modular chillers. The final design has 11 units installed on each of the four roof plant decks, plus two chillers installed on a gantry within the loading bay. With a capacity ranging from 90 to 1,080 kW, the chillers provide space savings of up to 35% compared with traditional chillers, and are both compact and modular.

3. JSRAE Values Global Network and Holds International Conferences
In this May, Kuniaki Kawamura was appointed as new president of Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (JSRAE). JARN interviewed Mr. Kawamura to hear about his views on JSRAE activities including conferences, a partnership with the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), and new refrigerants.

4. Research and Markets Releases Report on India’s HVAC Market
Leading market research company Research and Markets has added its report on ‘India HVAC Market by HVAC type, end-user, region market size, share, development, growth and demand forecast, 2014–2024’ to its offerings. It contains actual figures until 2018–2019, and a forecast for 2019–2024.  According to the report, the India heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) market is expected to attain a scale of US$ 5.9 billion by 2024, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7% during the forecast period.

5. GMCC Celebrates 500-millionth Rotary Compressor and New Product Launches
On August 30, Guangdong Meizhi Compressor Company (GMCC) held a grand ceremony in Sanya, Hainan, to celebrate the production of its 500-millionth rotary compressor and launch new products. Experts from the industry attended this landmark event. JARN was also invited to witness this milestone event in the industry.  Through years of efforts, GMCC has occupied the leading position in the global air conditioning market, technology, and products.
