1. GLOBAL REFRIGERATION MARKET
JARN estimates that the global refrigeration market value in 2018 reached US$ 100.7 billion including services such as installation and maintenance, showing an increase of about 4.6% compared with 2017. Of the total, commercial applications recorded US$ 64.8 billion, industrial applications amounted to US$ 30.3 billion, and transportation amounted to US$ 5.6 billion. In the commercial equipment sector, the refrigerated display case market was estimated to have reached US$ 21.5 billion, with beverage coolers achieving US$ 5.9 billion, ice machines reaching US$ 3.5 billion, other commercial equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and condensing units reaching US$ 6.5 billion, relevant components achieving US$ 3.3 billion, and vending machines reaching US$ 2.5 billion. In terms of regions, North America is the largest market in the world with a market value of US$ 14.1 billion, followed by Asia with US$ 11.4 billion, which grew into the second largest market, overtaking Europe. In Europe, the market was worth US$ 10.1 billion and other markets were worth US$ 7.9 billion.

2. MARKET TRENDS- China’s Influence
The convenience store market in China maintained double-digit growth several years ago. However, impacted by overinvestment and decelerated economic growth, convenience stores in China have seen stable growth recently. The supermarket sector did not grow at all, and foreign retail giants such as Carrefour and Walmart chain stores all withdrew from the China market. However, the number of mini-supermarkets is increasing, and these stores are located close to large apartment buildings.

3. Armónia, LU-VE Low-charge Ammonia Unit Coolers
LU-VE group has recently launched its brand-new range of industrial unit coolers, specifically designed to reduce the ammonia charge. The new family, named Armónia, operates with less than half the amount of ammonia compared with a same capacity market solution. The advantages of this technology help to reduce initial investment costs and operating costs, while maintaining high levels of efficiency and safety.  The Armónia range will be soon available in the LU-VE selection software.
