ACs in China Consume Highest Volume of Electricity on Global Scale

According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) research in April 2019, the global electricity consumption volume for residential and commercial air conditioners was 1,932 TWh in 2018. Of this consumption, China accounted for 34% of the global volume, ranking first, followed by the United States with 20%, Saudi Arabia 8%, India 7%, and Japan 6%. The top five countries accounted for two-thirds of global air conditioner electricity consumption demand.
