1. ATW Latest Product Trend
A prototype ATW heat pump was manufactured by U.S.-based Hotpoint in the 1950s. However, this prototype was not commercialized for a long time due to issues such as poor reliability and low demand caused by a decline in energy prices. Then in the 1980s, mass-produced ATW heat pump products were placed on the market, thanks to improved heat pump performance and reliability, but the sales were not as good as expected. Along with the increasing need of energy saving and environmental awareness in the world, the application of aircooled heat pump technology to the household water heater segment has attracted attention, and in the early to mid-2000s demand for ATW heat pumps started to rise. The main applications of ATW heat pumps vary greatly in different regions of the world and include space heating in Europe, bathing hot water supply in Japan, and cooking hot water supply and showers in the United States and China, so different design approaches are needed for products in each region.
