1. France Struck by Heat Wave and RAC Sales Surge in Europe
On June 28, the temperature in town of Gallargues-le-Montueux in the Gard area in southern France hit 45.9℃, the hottest temperature ever recorded in France. Moreover, Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic experienced temperatures reaching 40℃ for several days in some areas, hitting record high temperatures in June for these regions.  The number of high-temperature days in Europe has been increasing due to climate change, and air conditioners are playing a more important role in some areas. This trend will accelerate further development of the European air conditioner market. It is estimated that the European air conditioner market will record double digit growth in 2019, and the International Energy Agency forecasted that European air conditioner demand will at least double in the next two decades.

4. Huayi Group Targets Light Commercial Refrigeration Market
In March 2019, JARN reporters visited Huayi Compressor Barcelona in Spain, and were welcomed by Pedro Olalla, sales director, and Claudia Reggiani, marketing manager.  Huayi Compressor Barcelona’s factory was originally built in 1975 and started operation in 1976. At the beginning, the company focused on compressors for household refrigerators, then in 2000 shifted its focus to products for light commercial refrigeration. Today, the factory is annually manufacturing nearly 1.5 million reciprocating compressors for various light commercial refrigeration applications such as ice cream freezers, refrigerated cases for supermarkets and convenience stores, and refrigerators for restaurants. About half of the compressors produced at the Barcelona factory are shipped within Europe, which has a light commercial refrigeration market scale of around 4.3 million units.
