Government Purchase of ACs Is Mainly for Coal-to- Electricity Retrofit

In the first quarter of 2019, the government’s purchases of air conditioners in China didn’t see any recovery. According to Government Purchase Information, about 500 air conditioner purchasing projects have been completed via public bidding or competitive negotiation in the first quarter, with total purchasing value of RMB 2.03 billion (US$ 302 million), falling by 11.7% compared with RMB 2.3 billion (US$ 341 million) in the first quarter of 2018.
