7.3 SCROLL COMPRESSORS

A scroll compressor consists of a pair of scroll wraps having the identical profile. Intrinsically, it has excellent features: highly efficient and quiet operation thanks to continuous compression and less leakage in the compression space, and high reliability thanks to a small number of component parts and the low rubbing speed of the sliding components.
