China’s RAC Market Competition Intensifies Amid Gloomy Performance

In January 2019, room air conditioner (RAC) sales in China continued their gloomy performance from the second half of 2018. Retail sales of RACs in the month recorded more than 1.9 million units on a volume basis, falling by 11.4% year on year while recording more than RMB 7.4 billion (US$ 1.1 billion) on a value basis, dropping by 10.1% year on year.
