3. EU Refrigerant Quota System Driving forward Low-GWP Refrigerants - Report on Climatizacion 2019
A feature of this year’s Climatizacion was the move to lower global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants. The products and technologies at the expo clearly showcased this move, which is also clear in the European heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) market. Against this backdrop, the prices of high-GWP refrigerants rose greatly during the period from late 2017 into 2018, and the relaxation of Spanish regulations for mildly flammable refrigerants kicked in, forcing the whole market to move rapidly towards lower-GWP refrigerants.

5. Compressor World Market Situations - Rotary Compressors in China
The production volume of rotary compressors in China accounts for more than 80% and the sales volume accounts for around 70% of the global total. From January to July 2018, the rotary compressor market in China saw strong production and sales performance thanks to solid demand from downstream air conditioner enterprises. After July, air conditioner sales dropped sharply, impacting compressor manufacturers with falling business. In November and December, as some air conditioner enterprises aimed to fulfill their annual sales targets and to increase their inventory, the production and sales volume of rotary compressors bounced back. As a total in 2018, the production and sales of rotary compressors amounted to 206 million units, breaking 200 million units for the first time in China.
