Arkema to Introduce Low-GWP Refrigerant Options for the HVAC&R Market

Arkema is the only producer of R32 hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) with a plant in the United States. The company focuses on developing low-global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants to provide choices for the industry, as it prepares for future regulations as a result of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, which aims at a gradual reduction of the use of HFCs.
