1. Honeywell Launches Solstice L41y Refrigerant, Alternative to R410A
On September 11, 2018, Honeywell announced the commercial availability of Solstice L41y (ASHRAE refrigerant number: R452B), a reduced global-warming-potential (GWP) refrigerant (mildly flammable) designed to replace R410A for reversible heating and cooling applications.

2. Danfoss Raising the Bar for SVL Flexline
Danfoss introduced a new range of SVL valves approved up to 65 bar and has a temperature range from 60 to 150°C. The characteristics of the new valve make it optimally suited for the requirements of industrial ammonia (R717) heat recovery systems as well as subcritical CO2 (R744) systems.

3. Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US Announces Executive Appointments
Atsuhiro Yabu has been named president and CEO. In his new role, Yabu leads the development, promotion and execution of METUS’ business growth strategy and manages all departmental budgets. As COO, Mark Kuntz reports to Yabu and oversees all METUS business units and functional areas. As CFO, Andrew (Andy) Kelso provides financial guidance to the leadership team and has primary responsibility to plan, implement, manage and control all financial-related activities within the company.

4. Refrigeration & HVAC Indonesia Expands by Adding Two More New Exhibitions
Refrigeration & HVAC Indonesia and International Indonesian Seafood and Meat (IISM) Expo were held simultaneously at Jakarta International Expo from September 26 to 28, 2018. From this year, two other exhibitions, Solar & Energy Storage Indonesia and International Farming Technology Expo, were added.

5. Latest Coal-to-Electricity Subsidies and Policies in North China
On July 3 2018, the State Council issued the three-year action plan designed to achieve blue skies. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment stated that the action plan will effectively promote clean winter heating technology in the northern region and will require concentrated efforts in Beijing.
