1. Southeast Asian RAC Market Struggling due to Unseasonably Cool Weather
The RAC sales season this summer started out with market inventory due to sluggish demand last year, so inventory had to be cleared, and unusually cool weather has slowed the market. In the first half of 2018, there have been many rainy days in the main Southeast Asian RAC markets such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia for the second consecutive year, and the arrival of the hot summer season was delayed.

2. Frascold Expands to Keep Pace with Demand
To keep pace with demand, Frascold recently added five state-of-the-art computerized numerical control (CNC) machining stations to the company’s factory floor. Frascold builds and tests over 70,000 screw and reciprocating compressors annually, and the expanded premises will allow greater productivity

3. AC Industry to Experience High Growth through e-Commerce
Panasonic India, a leading air conditioner player in India, expects high growth in the air conditioner category, especially from the e-commerce platform. Gaurav Sah, business head– Air Conditioner Group, Panasonic India, told the press on April 25, “In the next few years, e-commerce sale of air conditioners will outgrow all other modes of sale. Though e-commerce currently contributes only around 2% of the total air conditioner sale, we believe that in coming years the growth in sale would be much more on e-commerce than any conventional platform.”

4. AHR Expo Returns to Atlanta for the First Time Since 2001
The AHR Expo will return to Atlanta for the first time since 2001 for its 2019 Show at the Georgia World Congress Center. Atlanta is home to many popular tourism attractions to be seen outside of the Show, including the World of Coca-Cola, Centennial Olympic Park and the world-famous Georgia Aquarium. The 2019 AHR Expo’s return to Atlanta presents an exciting opportunity for professionals from all over the world to visit the Southeast region and to experience it firsthand.

5. Emerson Suzhou Factory Produces 20 Million Compressors
Emerson’s Suzhou Factory has seen its total production volume of compressors break 20 million units.
In 1999, a Copeland compressor production line was set up in Suzhou, offering innovative Copeland Scroll compressors to China and the global market. In 2012, the 10 millionth Copeland Scroll compressor rolled off production line in Suzhou factory. Phase one of this project was completed in October 2014. In November 2017, phase two of Emerson Suzhou scroll manufacturing plant broke ground, boasting a total investment of US$ 40 million, to further address growing demands of China and Asian markets.
