1. India
Despite market turmoil from the effects of the demonetization of high-value notes in November 2016, as well as the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in July 2017, India’s VRF market grew 11.8% year on year to 38,000 units.

2. Latin American
The Latin American VRF market increased to 31,100 units in 2017. Brazil maintained its position as Latin America’s largest VRF market, followed by Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Peru.

3. Middle East
The Middle Eastern VRF market scale was 32,400 units in 2017, an increase of 29.7% compared with 2016. These large-scale projects exert a major impact on VRF demand, resulting in a VRF market that fluctuates greatly. Almost all VRF systems in the region are imported from overseas.

4. Africa
The African VRF market is very small, with only 9,600 units sold in 2017, owing to relatively low incomes and low purchasing ability. The main market is concentrated in South Africa, followed by Egypt and Nigeria. South Korean and Chinese manufacturers are active in the region, competing with Daikin that created the VRF market in this region
