1. The Global R32 AC Market – 2017 Overview
According to safety classifications specified by the several international standards, R32 refrigerant has conventionally been managed as combustible hazardous materials. However, since the industry argued for a revision in standards, a new class for mildly flammable refrigerants (A2L) has been established internationally that falls between nonflammable refrigerants (A1) and lower flammable refrigerants (A2). Therefore, various governments across the world have relaxed or are preparing to relax the local regulations concerning R32 and market conditions continue to favor a shift to R32 air conditioners.

2. SWEP Wins 51-MW Heat Transfer Unit at an University in Copenhagen
SWEP’s customer Vestforbraending, Denmark’s largest waste management company, handles around 1 million tons of waste each year and then focuses on producing energy from waste incineration. The new project will involve distributing 51 MW from Lundtofte Vekslerstation, the Danish Technology University, to serve the district heating network that supplies residential and commercial properties in the surrounding western area of Copenhagen.

3. UTC Opens Innovation Center for Intelligent Buildings in Florida
On April 17, United Technologies (UTC) officially opened the new UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings, a state-of-the-art innovation and technology experience center, modern and connected work space for 500 employees, and environmentally sustainable building designed to the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum standards. The building serves as the global headquarters for UTC Climate, Controls & Security.

4. Amazon Is First Foreign e-Commerce Food Retail Company in India
Amazon has rolled out its food retailing business in India with a pilot in Pune, becoming the first foreign e-commerce firm to stock and sell food items directly to consumers. Amazon had last year secured the Indian government’s permission to invest US$ 500 million in a wholly-owned venture to retail locally produced and packaged food products through offline and online channels.

5. Chinese Manufacturers Exhibit Their Capability to Foreign Buyers at Canton Fair
From April 15 to 19, 2018, Phase 1 of the 123rd Canton Fair for electronics household appliances etc. was held in Guangzhou, China. Covering an exhibition area of about 1.2 million m2, more than 25,000 Chinese and foreign enterprises set up nearly 60,500 booths. Chinese manufacturers displayed their latest products focusing on intelligent functions designed to grab global business opportunities.
