In 2017, VRF sales in Russia on a volume basis slotted in after Turkey, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy, and shared the fifth and sixth positions with Germany on the European continent. After a peak in sales in 2013, the market experienced a drop due to a slowdown in construction caused by the devaluation of the ruble as a result of the fall in global oil prices and, to a lesser extent, because of Western sanctions.
