3. Historical Backgrounds of Large Refrigeration Compressors
There are currently two types of large refrigeration compressors, centrifugal and screw compressors.
Dr. Willis H. Carrier developed a water-cooled chiller for air conditioning, using a centrifugal compressor for the first time in the world in 1922. The first semi-hermetic screw compressor for water-cooled chillers was developed by Dunham Bush. Along with the technical advances of simulation and manufacturing processing of screw rotors in the 1970s, the leading U.S. and Japanese manufacturers developed high-efficient individual rotor profiles specific to their own technologies.

4. STULZ Introduces Micro Data Centers
The STULZ micro data center provides a cost-effective solution to quickly build up local IT capacity where it is needed. This modular, highly efficient solution is easily scalable to meet the needs, even in places where space is limited. As standard, the micro data center features an Integrated Cooling System (ICS) for low to medium density applications which can be mounted internally or on the side. The ICS is available in chilled water and direct expansion systems.

5. Refrigerant Production Restriction Leads to Price Rises in China
In 2017, fluorine refrigerants saw over 30% year-on-year growth of the annual average price. Refrigerant price rises are caused by lower production or stopped production of large batches of refrigerants not complying with environmental protection and safety requirements. Other factors generating price rises included increased transportation costs, shrinking supply of refrigerant raw materials such as hydrofluoric acid and fluorite, and market recovery of room air conditioners (RACs), commercial air conditioners, and refrigeration and freezing equipment that raised demand for refrigerants.
