1. Ziehl-Abegg Reaches Euro 0.5 Billion Sales Driven by Energy-saving Products
After achieving sales of Euro 484 million (US$ 580 million) in 2016, by the end of December 2017, the company expected to post annual sales of around Euro 530 million (US$ 635 million). This represents an increase of 10%. The positive development right across every continent is being driven by modern, energy-saving products that are used in numerous fields. For example, in modern wind turbines or large data centers, because low energy fans for cooling and ventilation are always in demand.

2. Rheem Opens Innovation Learning Center in Texas
On November 16, 2017, Rheem opened its newest Innovation Learning Center outside of Dallas, the United States. The center is part of an extensive renovation and expansion of Rheem’s divisional offices, warehouse, and distribution facilities in Lewisville. Rheem’s new Innovation Learning Center is the fourth of five training facilities to open across the United States and Canada.

3. Mitsubishi Electric R32 RACs Installed in a University in London
A building at University College London (UCL) has installed new R32 room air conditioners (RACs) from Mitsubishi Electric. The internationally renowned Division of Biosciences comprising 500 staff and 300 Ph.D. students is to benefit from the new system. Mitsubishi Electric’s M series MSZ-LN was chosen because R32 refrigerant will play a key role in addressing future legislation and reducing the environmental impact of air conditioning.

4. Electrical Appliance Exports Show Continuous Growth from China
During the period from January to October 2017, the export value of household electrical appliances enjoyed a year-on -year growth rate of 8.4%, reaching US$ 51.5 billion. Concerning destinations, exports of electrical appliances during the 10 -month period have maintained strong growth for all regions except Africa.
Asia, Europe, and North America were the top three destinations, showing year-on-year growth of 8.6%, 9.8%, and 5.1%, respectively. Europe has surpassed North America to become the second largest destination, with 24.9% of China’s total exports.

5. Heating Accounts for 40% of Electricity Demand in Beijing this Winter
In 2017, more than 1 million households conducted Coal-to-Electricity retrofits in Beijing, which will generate about 3.8 million kW of demand on electricity. With such retrofits, the amount of coal burned will be reduced by nearly 4.2 million tons in Beijing during every heating season, along with reduced emission of over 10.8 million tons of CO 2, 99,900 tons of sulfur dioxide, and 29,100 tons of nitrous oxide.
