1. ebm-papst Building a New 41 Million euro Development Center
ebm-papst plans a new development center at its headquarters in Mulfingen, Germany, with around 41 million euro (about US$ 50 million) investment in the building. The aim of the new building is to double the available floor space in order to meet the increased requirements of recent years. Once completed, the 11,000 m2 of office space and 7,500 m2 of laboratory space will accommodate approximately 500 employees of research and development.

2. Haier CAC Uses Trinity Strategy to Expand Global Customer Base
On November 9, 2017 Haier central air conditioning (CAC) celebrated the first anniversary of the world’s first central air conditioning interconnected factory in Qingdao, China. On this occasion, JARN interviewed, Wang Li, director of Haier CAC, to hear about the company’s global business strategy.

3. Emerson Completes Cooper-Atkins Acquisition
Emerson announced on January 10th, 2018 that it has completed the purchase of Cooper-Atkins, a leading manufacturer of temperature management and environmental measurement devices and wireless monitoring solutions for foodservice, healthcare and industrial markets. Cooper-Atkins is a strong complement to Emerson’s global cold chain business, which includes the ProAct Services portfolio for supermarkets and the Cargo Solutions business that provides real-time perishable cargo tracking and monitoring services.

4. ACREX India to Attract Many Business Visitors Backed up by Its Market Potential
ACREX India, South Asia’s largest exhibition on refrigeration and the cold chain, air conditioning, ventilation, and intelligent buildings, will be held from February 22 to 24, 2018 at BIEC Bengaluru, India. At the 2018 edition, more than 600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries will showcase their latest products and technologies on the 35,000 m2 floor and will receive more than 50,000 business visitors.

5. Mitsubishi Electric Opens Factory for RACs in Turkey
On December 12, 2017, the new factory of Mitsubishi Electric Turkey commenced production. Mitsubishi Electric aims to expand business in Turkey and Europe, where the demands for RACs are expected to increase. Annual production of 500,000 sets (indoor and out-door units) is targeted by fiscal year 2020 (end March 2021).
