According to BSRIA, the European chiller and air-side market has shrunk by 1% in 2016, falling to US$ 3.8 billion in value terms, however, it did record a growth of 2% in terms of volume.

3. Panasonic Aiming at Expanding Gas AC Business in Latin America
Panasonic is strengthening its system proposal ability through expansion of its gas air conditioning lineup by adding absorption chillers to GHPs in Brazil. Panasonic completed the procedures to acquire Union Rhac Technologia (UR), a Brazilian air conditioning engineering company, on September 1, 2017.

4. Carrier Introduces AquaForce Vision 30KAV with Greenspeed Intelligence
Carrier launched AquaForce Vision 30KAV with Greenspeed intelligence, its new range of variable-speed screw chillers, with a first phase covering cooling capacities from 500 kW up to 1,100 kW and reaching exceptional levels of seasonal efficiency. The AquaForce Vision PUREtec 30KAV-ZE version, designed exclusively for ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant HFO- 1234ze, will be available in 2018. The range will also be extended up to 1,800 kW cooling capacity with premium technologies and additional options.

5. Kirloskar Adopts R1234ze(E) refrigerant for Chillers in India
Kirloskar Chillers, Pune-based engineering conglomerate and part of the Kirloskar Group, is using R1234ze(E) refrigerant in its new line of chillers manufactured in India. The chillers are now available for installation in both industrial and commercial buildings in India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Kirloskar Chillers offers a comprehensive range of centrifugal and screw chillers from 50 TR to 2400 TR. It is introducing the first chiller with R1234ze(E) in India.
