1. Bangkok RHVAC2017
Bangkok RHVAC 2017 were held at Bitec Bangna, Bangkok, Thailand, from September 7 to 9. Attracting increasing attention, this edition of the event welcomed over 10,000 visitors. After China, Thailand is the second largest air conditioning production base in the world, playing an important role as a supply base for the global market. It is estimated that the annual production of air conditioners in Thailand is more than 13 million at present. Boosted by this background, this year’s Bangkok RHVAC attracted not only air conditioner manufacturers but also part and component manufacturers.

2. JCI Introduces York Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller in India
Johnson Controls has updated its lineup of commercial and residential HVAC&R products in India with the introduction of its magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller line, the York magnetic centrifugal chiller YMC2 with a cooling capacity range of 165-1,000 TR (580-3,500 kW).

3. Honeywell’s Solstice N40 Selected by 1,500 Stores of Tesco Lotus in Thailand
Tesco Lotus, a leading retailer in Thailand and part of Tesco Group, is converting 1,500 Tesco Lotus Express stores to Honeywell’s Solstice N40 refrigerant to voluntarily reduce carbon emissions. It is the first implementation in Asia of Solstice N40, the most widely accepted, lowest global warming potential (GWP), non-flammable replacement for R404A in the supermarket industry.

4. Midea Completes Kuka Acquisition Financing Project
Kuka group is a representative of Industrial 4.0 and a leading company in the field of robotics and automation in Germany. The acquisition of Kuka was a key step for Midea to promote global strategy, optimize industry structure, and improve intelligent manufacturing. The combination of Kuka and Midea will enable the creation of intelligent machines and smart factories that usher in a new era of robotics-based manufacturing.

5. Daikin Chemical Southeast Asia Established
Daikin has established Daikin Chemical Southeast Asia Co., Ltd., with operations beginning from January 1, 2018. In addition to providing a stable supply of refrigerant gas for air conditioners and boosting sales of fluoropolymer and fluoroelastomer products to the automotive industry, the new subsidiary aims to expand the fluorochemical business in the growing markets of Southeast Asia by identifying demand according to market segmentation and application development in each field.
