1. HVAC & Refrigeration Show 2018 to be Held in London
The HVAC & Refrigeration Show - the UK’s only dedicated exhibition for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heating, and heat pump sectors - is to make its debut at London’s ExCeL from January 23 to 25, 2018.  Seamlessly organized by Datateam Business Media, the event unfolding in a new location in 2018 will include a new sector: refrigerated and chilled food transportation.

2. Thermo King Emphasizes the Need for Regulation of Refrigerated Transport
Thermo King announced that it will offer an option for its truck and trailer products that will help lower the greenhouse gas footprint. This solution is now an option due to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s recent Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) approval of the next generation refrigerant, R452A which has a nearly 50% lower global warming potential (GWP) compared to refrigerants that are currently being used today for transport applications.

3. Danfoss Refrigerant Week 2017
In order to help them adapt to the ever- changing refrigerant landscape, Danfoss is organizing a Refrigerant Week from September 18 to 22, 2017. This week will put refrigerants in focus with an aim to educate and inspire professionals. The Refrigerant Week consists of five days of planned activities and experiences designed to help HVAC&R professionals and decision makers understand their global and local impact.

4. Unmanned Retail Opens to Meet Demand from the Cold Chain Industry
In the era of new retail solutions, un-manned retail will become a future trend combining online and offline services. Ali’s unmanned Amoy Coffee was opened in July, accomplishing full intelligent operation including entry by scanning with a smartphone, self-service ordering, and cash-free payment. The Sun Art Retail Group proposed the unmanned convenience store BingoBox in June, and plans to set up 5,000 stores within one year.

5. Sanden Supplies Daimler with CO2 Compressors for Passenger Cars
Sanden Automotive Components, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sanden Holdings, announced on July 7, 2017, that it has recently completed the development and industrialization of compressors for automotive air conditioning applying CO2 refrigerant. The company started supplying Daimler with the world’s first CO2 compressor for mass-produced passenger cars in May 2017 on a full scale.
