1. Trends in Renewable Energy Utilization
The International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme published its ‘Snapshot of Global PV Markets’ 2016 report on annual solar PV system growth on a direct current (DC) basis. According to the report, China, the United States, and Japan continue to lead the world in installed capacity, the same as in 2015, but it also noted that installed capacity is growing sharply in emerging countries.  The Chinese market is the main driver of installed capacity growth worldwide. Including the projected capacity to be installed in the Chinese market, capacity installed worldwide in 2017 is expected to top 75 GW and may reach 80 GW.

2. Chemours Opteon LowGWP Refrigerants Receive Use Approvals by EPA
On July 21, 2017, Chemours announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program has listed low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants of three Opteon series, XP44, XP40, and XP10, as acceptable for use.

3. FEBRAVA: September 12-15 in Brazil
FEBRAVA, the 20th International Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Heating and Air Treatment Fair, will be held from Sep 12 to 15, 2017 at Sao Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in Brazil. The upcoming 2017 edition is expected to attract +400 exhibitors and +30,000 visitors to a 50,000m2 exhibition area.

4. Fujitsu General to Expand Business in Brazil
At FEBRAVA 2017, Fujitsu General will exhibit a new product lineup for commercial packaged air conditioners and residential multi-split air conditioners aiming to expand its sales through the light commercial route.

5. India Gathering Attention from Chinese Manufacturers as a Production Base
Chinese manufactures are building factories in India that has some advantages. With large young population, Indian factories can enjoy the benefit of low labor cost for the following 20 to 30 years, which will bring price advantage and higher product profits. Also Indian market has much potential with low penetration rate of home appliances compared with Chinese market.
