1. Hot AC Sales and High Inventory in China
The Chinese air conditioning market exploded in the first half of this year.  Both the production sector and the retail market are welcoming the hot sales season.  Statistics from suppliers of air conditioning systems, compressors, and key components suggest that the production and sales volume of air conditioners showed double-digit growth in the first six months of 2017 compared with that of the same period last year.

2. Carrier Seeks Out Green Building Business Opportunities
During the China Refrigeration Expo (CRH) held in April, JARN interviewed Ross B. Shuster, president, International, and Gaurang Pandya, president, Asia, of UTC Climate, Controls & Security. They discussed the business strategy of Carrier, part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, focusing on the green building business in particular.

3. RefriAmericas Grooves to Latin Beat
RefriAmericas air conditioning and commercial and industrial refrigeration conference and trade show was held from June 1 to 2, 2017 at Atlapa Convention Center in Panama. The 14th edition of RefriAmericas was attended by about 90 companies that presented their latest products, services, and solutions to more than 2,200 visitors from South and Central America as well as the Caribbean and Mexico.

4. Heat Wave Boosts AC Sales in India
With the onset of monsoon season, the summer of 2017 has drawn to an end in most parts of the Indian subcontinent. It was a severe summer, with temperatures well above normal, especially in the northern parts of the subcontinent, which temporarily became the hottest region in the world due to the impact of an anticyclone.

5. First Danfoss Turbocor Oil-free Compressor Rolls off the Production Line
On June 6, the first Danfoss Turbocor oil-free compressor manufactured at the company’s factory in China rolled off the production line. The first construction period was completed recently. The production line will be put into full operation in autumn, and the second and third construction periods are underway.
