1. Daikin Expanding Its Presence in U.S. with Hard and Soft Capabilities
Daikin’s North American subsidiary Goodman Group held an opening ceremony on May 24 for its new Daikin Texas Technology Park (DTTP) facility located in a Houston suburb. With about two and half years of preparations and an approximately US$ 450 million investment, Daikin’s DTTP has approximately 373,000 m2 in total building floor space. The site has a land area of 2 million m2, which also houses a logistics warehouse, testing laboratories, and office space.

3. Emerson Successfully Holds Annual Channel Partner Conference in Tokyo
Emerson held its annual Channel Partner Conference in Tokyo, Japan on June 1 and 2, 2017. This event brought together more than 100 Northeast and Southeast Asia heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) business partners of Emerson’s Commercial and Residential Solutions.

4. Exports of ACs Show Double-digit Growth in March
According to China Customs, exports of air conditioners from China in March recorded 7.13 million units, a year-on-year increase of 29.5% on a volume basis, and RMB 7.98 billion (US$ 1.17 billion), a year-on year 21.1% increase on a value basis. During the first quarter of 2017, exports of air conditioners recorded 16.49 million units, a year-on-year increase of 26.4% or RMB 18.48 billion (US$ 2.71 billion), a year-on year 19.7% increase on a value basis.

5. Panasonic Supplies CO2 Condensing Unit to Malaysian Supermarket
On May 9, Panasonic announced it has supplied its CO2 refrigerant based condensing unit to the Mutiara Tropicana store of Malaysian supermarket chain Jaya Grocer as its first supermarket customer for such systems outside Japan.
