1. REGIONAL VRF Market - China
China is now the world’s largest VRF market, leaving Japan, the second largest one, far behind. China is also a global VRF production center and source of information on new VRFs. The Chinese VRF market showed vigorous growth of 29.9% in 2016 and sales of commercial VRFs remained flat. The total market including residential and commercial uses reached 903,000 units.

2. REGIONAL VRF Market - Europe
Although the turmoil negatively impacted the overall European air conditioning market in 2016, the VRF sector still enjoyed consider - able growth. JARN estimates that the overall European VRF market grew by 18.1% in 2016 and sales reached about 150,100 units. Turkey, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy are major regional markets, accounting for more than 55% of the total European VRF market.

3. REGIONAL VRF Market - Southeast Asia
The Southeast Asian VRF market of seven countries, namely Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Myanmar, recorded sales of 52,400 units in 2016, a 16.8% increase compared with 2015. Demand from commercial buildings, villas, and hotels has been rising sharply in the region, and is the main driver of market growth.

4. REGIONAL VRF Market - North America
The U.S. VRF market amounted to 36,000 units in 2016, indicating a 9.1% growth rate.  Since the first quarter of 2017, the U.S. economy has been gradually expanding. With more construction projects and higher personal consumption, the VRF market is expected to continue to expand in 2017.

5. REGIONAL VRF Market - INDIA
Ducted air conditioners such as chillers had been dominating the Indian market. However, through the efforts of Japanese manufacturers, market recognition of VRF technology has improved greatly. VRF demand in India was estimated at 34,000 units in 2016, showing 10.4% year-on-year growth. Compared with the past two years, growth of the Indian VRF market tends to be flat.
