1. LG Develops 1,100 RT Oil-free Magnetic Bearing Chiller
At HARFKO 2017 held from March 7 to 10 in Korea, LG introduced the company’s latest line-up of oil-free inverter centrifugal chillers. LG’s new oil-free magnetic bearing inverter centrifugal chiller line-up offers capacities ranging from 260 RT to 1,100 RT that can be installed in a number of different applications from ice storage to large-scale district cooling, depending on the project’s needs.

2. The 28th CRH Expo Coming to Shanghai Soon
The 28th International Exhibition for Refrigeration, Air-conditioning, Heating and Ventilation, Frozen Food Processing, Packaging and Storage (CRH 2017) is scheduled to take place from April 12 to 14, 2017 at Shanghai New International Expo Center, China.

3. Heat Pumps in France
AFPAC, the French heat pump association, has published initial data on sales in 2016. In 2016, a total of 2,597 ground-source heat pumps were sold. Sales of ATW heat pumps reached 74,595 units in 2016, while sales of air-to-air (ATA) heat pumps reached 45,000 units. A total of 2,700 hybrid systems were sold. Sales of heat pumps used to produce domestic hot water reached 80,753 units in 2016.

5. VRFs Contribute to Chinese AC Market Growth in 2016
China’s central air conditioner market in 2016 is estimated to have reached RMB 75 billion (US$ 10 billion), a year-on-year increase of more than 10%. The increase was mainly attributed to variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, which are included in central air conditioners in China, especially in the home decoration retail market.
