1. Russia’s Air Conditioner Market in 2016 & 2017
The year 2016 was not easy for the Russian market. Even though sales of room air conditioners (RACs) increased by 5% on volume basis, they fell by 15% on a value basis. This imbalance happened due to the 15-17% drop of the ex-works prices of Chinese products, which accounted for a nearly 85% share on volume basis in the Russian market. In 2017, if the hot summer does not visit Russia again, split air conditioner sales are expected to drop from the current 1.4 million units to 1.25-1.30 million units.

Since 2016, the company has completed retrofits for 398,000 households in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. It intends to invest over RMB 30 billion (US$ 4.4 billion) in building the power grid for electric energy replacement projects during 2016 and 2017.
