1. Daikin Aiming at No.1 Slot in Air Filter Market
On the heels of the acquisition of major U.S. air filter company Flanders in April 2016, Daikin acquired Dinair,
a Swedish air filter manufacturer, via American Air Filter (AAF), a Daikin subsidiary involved in the filter business, in December 2016.  Having become the top filter manufacturer in the United States following the acquisition of Flanders, Daikin is looking to further strengthen its global filter business through the acquisition of Dinair.

2. Samsung Establishes New European Sales Office in Amsterdam
Samsung Electronics has set up Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe (SEACE) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. SEACE, a dedicated sales office for air conditioners in Europe, began operations in January 2017, and is expected to strengthen the company’s sales activities which were previously operated by each office across 17 European countries.

3. JCI-Hitachi Satisfying Customers with Its Expanded Product Lineup
Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning (JCH) was established on October 1, 2015 as a joint venture company Johnson Controls (JCI) and Hitachi Group. Now, more than a year later, JARN interviewed Franz Cerwinka, CEO of JCH, to gain an insight into developments at JCH during the past year.

4. Refco Releases Two New Condensate Pumps with Unsurpassed Functionality
After over two years of R&D, Refco’s next-generation condensate pumps are ready for the world market. These new pumps have six new features: quiet mode, diagnostic LED, USB connection, digital water sensor, universal application, and an integrated replaceable fuse, to greatly assist distributors and installing contractors.

5. Highly Produces 200 Millionth Compressor for ACs in India
On December 8, 2016, Highly India announced the release of its 200 millionth air conditioning compressor at the global conference held in Gujarat, India, where its manufacturing base is located.
At the same time, it announced the completion of the fourth phase of the Indian factory construction.
The completed Indian factory is able to produce 2 million air conditioner compressors every year.
