1. Forecast of World Air Conditioner Market Size in 2017
Forecast of World Air Conditioner Market Size in 2017 is estimated to be 118.93 million units.
The year 2016 was a year of great achievement, recovering from negative growth in 2015. The global air conditioner market saw 5.5% year on-year growth, increasing to 114 million units.

2. NORTH AMERICA
The U.S. air conditioner market in 2016 showed a good performance. Unitary, window, and minisplit types of air conditioners grew by 6.9%, 11.8%, and 18.2% respectively, year on year, with market scales of 7.1 million units, 7.0 million units, and 843,000 units respectively.

3. CHINA
A hot summer was seen in most parts of China, boosting digestion of large inventory, and the room air conditioner (RAC) market grew by 7.1% year-on-year, up to 44.3 million units. However, impacted by the prolonged economic slowdown, sales of packaged air conditioners (PACs) for small office and store applications recorded mere 1.4% growth and a market scale of 2.5 million units.

4. SOUTHEAST ASIA
In 2016, the seven major countries in Southeast Asia, namely Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Singapore, have seen their air conditioner market scale increase by 11.2% to 8.7 million units. The RAC market scale was 8.3 million units, indicating 8.9% year-on-year growth. The PAC market reached 398,000 units, showing 9.8% year-on-year growth.

5. INDIA
In India, the monsoon season arrived late and the country experienced an extended scorching summer, leading to 21.2% growth in the air conditioner market, which increased to 5.1 million units

6. EUROPE
Ever since inventory digestion in 2015, Europe has embraced stable development. The summer in 2016 did not see explosive growth as in the previous year. However, RAC sales grew by 12.2% year on year and reached 5.7 million units. Some construction projects in Italy and Spain were re-initiated, and new commercial demand is emerging. PAC sales in Europe grew by 5.5%, increasing to 458,000 units. The industry is confident about the European market. Turkey is attracting attention as a production base in Europe

7. MIDDLE EAST
The Middle East suffered from unstable political status and a dropping oil price which stabilized only recently. The local market lacked growth momentum, and capital allocation was difficult. The Middle Eastern RAC market decreased by 3.5% down to 4.2 million units, and PAC sales decreased by 3.3% down to 716,000 units in 2016, with a dropping average price

8. LATIN AMERICA
A declining economy in Latin America for two years in a row caused 18.7% shrinkage of the air conditioner market in 2016, with a market scale of 6.8 million units.
