1. AHR Expo to Return to Las Vegas This Coming January
The 2017 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) will return to the glitter of Las Vegas this coming January. It will take place January 30 to February 1 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. International Exposition Company has also announced that upcoming Shows will be held in Chicago in 2018, Atlanta in 2019, and Orlando in 2020.

2. GST Bill Passed by Parliament in India
Overcoming political differences that have been stalling GST for almost 10 years, the Parliament passed a Constitution Amendment bill on August 8, 2016 to enable implementation of GST. Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) as well as most other industries have welcomed this development. The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) National President Sachin Maheshwari said, “I believe GST is one of the biggest economic reforms in India.

3. Made-in-China Air Conditioners Cool Blazing Africa
China has grown to be Africa’s largest trading partner. Chinese house-hold electrical appliances are known for good quality at a cheap price. Increasing export volume from China to Africa has led to solid local market penetration. As major home appliances, air conditioners and refrigerators help cool a blazing Africa.

4. Mitsubishi Electric Launches Super-mini Full SiC DIPIPM
SiC-MOSFET reduces power consumption by about 70% compared with Mitsubishi Electric’s existing Super-mini DIPIPM, and contributes to an overall reduction in air conditioner power consumption. It has achieved top class low power consumption in the home appliance market.

5. Tecumseh Moving Forward with R290 & HFO Compressors
Tecumseh was purchased by Mueller Industries and Atlas Holdings in October 2015. During China Refrigeration 2016 (CRH 2016) expo, JARN interviewed Douglas J. Murdock who has joined Tecumseh as the new President and CEO from Mueller. He was accompanied by Bill Merritt, Vice President of Global Product Management, Keith Gifford, Director of Global Product Management, and Hin Choy Chong, Managing Director for Asia.
