1. Major Applications in the Global Refrigeration Market
By taking into account the cost of equipment, construction and services, JARN predicts that the global refrigeration market value amounted to US$90 billion in 2015, with commercial applications amounting to US$ 57 billion, industrial applications amounted to US$ 28 billon, land & marine transportation and container transportation amounted to US$ 5 billion.

2. Global Commercial Refrigeration Market by Equipment
In commercial application, refrigerated display cases accounted for 49% and represented US$ 18.6 billion; beverage coolers accounted for 14% and represented US$ 5.3 billion; ice machines accounted for 8% and represented US$ 3 billion; vending machines accounted for 6% and represented US$ 2.2 billion; other commercial equipment accounted for 15% and reached a value of US$ 5.7 billion, and relevant components accounted for 8%, i.e. US$ 3 billion.

3. Global Commercial Refrigeration Market by Region
In terms of regions, North America is the largest market, accounting for 32.8% of the global market with a market value of US$ 12.5 billion. Europe, with a 24.2% market share and US$ 9.2 market value, is the second-largest market. Asia accounted for 23.9% of the global market, i.e. US$ 9.1 billion.

4. Panasonic Strengthening Its Refrigeration Business
Panasonic has been making moves to strengthen its refrigeration business. It completed the acquisition of Hussmann, a U.S. refrigeration equipment giant, in April, and formed a new company, Panasonic Appliances Refrigeration System (Dalian), in July.
