1. EUREKA 2016 Conference on December 13 in the Netherlands
EUREKA 2016: Heating, Cooling and Ventilation: Sustainable technologies for a better life will be held on December 13 in the Netherlands, organized by European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE) and European Ventilation Industry Association (EVIA). One of the highlights of the calendar year, EUREKA 2016 will assemble representatives from industry, users, and the academic community, including students, to discuss with European policymakers the challenges and opportunities the HVAC&R industry faces in this rapidly changing global context.

2. Danfoss North America Discusses Importance of Investment in U.S. Market
On June 21 in Washington, D.C., Danfoss participated in the 2016 Select USA Investment Summit, an initiative established by the White House as a government-wide effort to encourage, facilitate, and accelerate business investment in the United States by both domestic and foreign firms.  John Galyen, president, Danfoss North America, joined in a panel. Mr. Galyen emphasized that investing in the U.S. market is vital to participating in a global economy; people all over the world want to buy products made in the United States.

3. Inverter AC Market Expanding Rapidly in Southeast Asia
Since Southeast Asia is warm all year round, it is difficult to give full play to the strong points of inverter air conditioners. Now, in Southeast Asia, however, there is an increasing move toward reinforcing the energy efficiency regulation by changing the efficiency standard from that based on the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) to that based on the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER).

4. Emerson Strengthens Sales with Inverter Technology
During CRH 2016 held in April, JARN interviewed Giovanni Zullo, vice president of marketing and Planning for Emerson Climate Technologies, at its Asia Pacific Headquarters. He discussed Emerson’s business results over the last year and the business forecast for this year. Mr. Zullo also talked about their inverter business with Ruking Emerson (Shanghai).

5. New Version of Energy Efficiency Label to Be Enforced in China
On July 15, a new version of the energy efficiency labeling system was released on the official website of the National Development and Reform Commission. According to the announcement, energy efficiency labeling systems for 34 categories of products such as the energy efficiency label for room air conditioners and for electric washing machines will be enforced as of October 1, 2016. The labeling system for chillers will be enforced as of January 1, 2017.
