Heat Waves Leads to Record Sales of ACs

India recorded its highest ever temperature on May 22 when the mercury in the town of Phalodi in the western state of Rajasthan shot up to an unbearable 51oC. It was the second day in a row that the town experienced temperatures in excess of 50oC.
