* MHI to Expand Centrifugal Chiller Production in China
MHI Bingshan Refrigeration (Dalian) (MBRD), a joint venture company for centrifugal chiller production established by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Dalian Refrigeration (DRC), established its  production system last year. By constructing a new plant with a floor area of about 12,000 m2 within its factory in Dalian City, the company is aiming to annually produce 500 units of centrifugal chillers, ranging from 600 to 1,800 RT.

Bitzer Japan’s highlights at HVAC &R 2016 will include the Octagon series reciprocating compressors for subcritical CO2 applications, which feature strengthened housings and drive gears as well as low weight.
This closely graduated series of compressors is designed for refrigeration applications and is very efficient.

2. European Heat Pump Association Forum in Paris
The European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) has chosen the prestigious, unusual Yachts de Paris as venue for its ninth Forum to be held in Paris from May 18 to 20, 2016.  The Heat Pump Forum 2016 will provide an opportunity to discuss successful European and national climate and energy policies, with a focus on heat pumps.

3. Honeywell Promoting New Refrigerant Solstice N40 as Alternative to R404A
Honeywell has developed a new refrigerant, Solstice N40, as an alternative to R404A, which has high global warming potential (GWP). The new refrigerant, registered as R448A and given the brand name Solstice N40 by Honeywell, is nonflammable and highly efficient with lower GWP than standard hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants.

Heating is provided in North China from mid-November each year, whereas there is no public heating facilities in South China. However, the situation is changing now. Along with the economic development, the demand for heating has been increasing rapidly in South China provinces.

5. Sharp Plasmacluster Technology Can Inhibit Avian
Sharp has now verified that its Plasmacluster technology can control 99% of infectivity of floating avian influenza A virus (H7N9) in about 47 minutes in a test using a box of volume 1-m3 in collaboration with the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
