* The 2014 World Chiller Market ? Latin America
According to BSRIA, Latin America’s chiller market scale reached US$ 427.2 million in 2014, marking growth of 5.2% compared with the previous year. Among countries, Brazil has the largest market at US$ 177.7 million with 21.5% growth, followed by Mexico with a scale of US$ 92.4 million. Argentina decreased by 15.9% to US$ 13.1 million in 2014 from US$ 15.5 million in 2013.

1. Skyworth Aims to Be Global AC Player with Talented Engineering Team
According to statistics, rapid growth has come to an end in China’s residential air conditioner industry, which is now posting moderate growth. Many investors have withdrawn from the industry, with less than 20 major brands active in the marketplace in recent years. However, Skyworth Group, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, has bucked the trend and entered this mature market to the surprise of many industry experts.

2. Electrolux Localizes Convector Production in Russia
This year, Electrolux moved production of the Air Gate series of electric convectors, which combine the functions of an electric heater and an air purifier, to the Izhevsk Heating Equipment Factory (IZTT) in Russia. IZTT launched an additional production site for convectors in 2014 as part of the industrial cluster for engineering climate control systems and electronics in the town of Kirzhach, Vladimir Region.

3. Daikin Applied Acquires Minority Stake in Riptide IO
Daikin Applied Americas announced on November 20 that it is acquiring a minority ownership stake in Riptide IO, a California-based software company that focuses on helping building owners connect, manage and automate building equipment by bringing the full benefit of the Internet of Things (IoT) to commercial buildings. Terms of the deal are not being disclosed.

4. Hisense Smart Home Appliance Roadshow in China
The 2015 Hisense smart appliance national roadshow with the theme of ‘Today and Tomorrow’ started in Wuxi from October 16 to 18. Hisense has shifted its focus to smart industry, with self-developed new products including smart TVs, smart air conditioners, smart refrigerators, and smartphones. Consumers may experience the novelty brought by Hisense smart appliances at the whole-new Internet-connected smart home experience zone.
