* The 2014 World Chiller Market - Middle East
According to BSRIA, the overall chiller market in the four Middle Eastern countries of Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) came to US$ 519.7 million in 2014, down 6.8% from US$ 557.7 million in 2013. Saudi Arabia’s chiller market, the largest in the region, fell by 27.5%, which was compensated for by 28.3% growth in the UAE.

1. AC Distributor System Breaking Down in China
Since the beginning of Chinese HVAC&R market growth, the industry has adopted a distributor system. The system, however, subsequently shifted to mass retailer sales and then to e-commerce. This has affected the distributor system to the point where it is now on the verge of breaking down.

2. Commitment Towards A Renewable-based Energy System in Europe
The 12 members of European associations and federations need a straightforward policy that reflects the fact that renewables will be at the core of the energy system in Europe. This approach should be implemented via all possible levers. From power production to heating and cooling, from divestment of fossil energy infrastructure to state-aid procedures.

3. Sanden Environmental Solutions Expanding Fast
Launched in July 2014, Sanden Environmental Solutions (SES) is a new branch of Sanden International (Europe). SES is devoted to product planning, marketing, and sales, and is spearheading Sanden’s CO2 technology in Europe. SES has a 100% CO2 offer. Early in the spring of 2015, JARN interviewed Olivier Campy, director of SES and director of Sanden Environmental Products. The latter is one of seven new companies recently split off from Sanden Holdings.

4. JCI Releases Premium Efficiency Vertical Stacked WSHPs
The new Premium Efficiency vertical stacked water source heat pumps (WSHPs) from Johnson Controls (JCI) offer industry-leading efficiency- as high as 16.6 energy efficiency ratio (EER) and up to 18.5 EER in ground loop (geothermal) applications, and a flexible design that allows for simple zoning, tenant metering, and building expandability.

5. Mitsubishi Electric Aims at \1 Trillion AC&R Sales in 2020
Mitsubishi Electric aims to expand its sales in the AC&R system business sector from about \700 billion (US$ 5.7 billion) in 2014 to \1 trillion in 2020.
