Industry sources estimate the Indian market scale in 2014-2015 to be around 3,680 chillers (799,300 TR) - a marginal increase of 1% from 2013-2014 in TR. In terms of value, the market scale was INR 13 billion (US$ 205 million), an increase of about 11% due to higher cost of imports.

AHRI will host a conference on January 21, 2016, in Orlando, Florida, the United States, before the start of the ASHRAE Winter Conference and AHR Expo.  Speakers representing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), laboratories, and universities will discuss the latest low-GWP refrigerants, their testing, and performance.

2. European Cold Chain Market to Surpass US$ 57 Billion by 2019
A recent report from Technavio shows that Europe’s refrigerated transport sector is growing fast, and that the overall European cold chain market is expected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of around 12% between 2015 and 2019.

4. New LG Air Conditioning Systems Headquarters Opened
LG Electronics USA celebrated the opening of its new LG Air Conditioning Systems Headquarters outside of Atlanta on November 11. At 40,000 ft2 (3,700 m2), this state-of-the-art facility is poised to support LG’s fast-growing air conditioning systems business and educate engineers, contractors and technicians about LG’s industry-leading heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technologies.

5. Daikin Establishes Technology and Innovation Center
On November 25, Daikin held an opening ceremony for its new Technology and Innovation Center (TIC) established within Yodogawa Plant in Settsu City, Osaka. More than 300 Japanese and overseas customers were invited to the opening ceremony, and JARN staff also attended.
