* The 2014 World Chiller Market ? The United States
According to BSRIA the overall chiller demand in the U.S. market in 2014 was US$970.2 million, slightly decreased from US$980.8 million in 2013. There are, however, signs of great recovery in 2015. The U.S. chiller market was greatly depressed in 2009 by the Lehman shock, but has now recovered and remains stable.

1. AHRI & GMPI Sign a Cooperation Agreement
In recognition of the rapid growth of AHRI certification programs worldwide, and Asia in particular, the U.S.-based Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and the General Machinery Product Inspection Institute (GMPI) signed a cooperation agreement on October 19 in Hefei, China.

In addition, this year’s cool summer did little help to the sales of air conditioners. Within the air conditioning industry, manufacturers started price wars since September 2014, intensifying the industry competition. Under such circumstances, air conditioning companies start turning to high-end markets.
