* Cheap Gas Holding Back Heat Pumps in Europe
The European heat pump market maintain a small but positive trend despite unfavorable economic constraints. The sales of heat pumps in Europe increased by 3% based on number of heat pump units according to market statistics collected by the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA). In total 793,000 heat pumps were sold in Europe 2014.

1. JCI and Hitachi Complete Global Air Conditioning JV
Johnson Controls (JCI), Hitachi, and Hitachi Appliances announced on October 1 that the companies have completed their global joint venture (JV) agreement and will immediately commence operations of Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning to provide global customers with a full range of world class air conditioning products and technology.

2. UTC Announces Organization and Leadership Changes to Commercial Businesses
United Technologies Corporation (UTC) announced on September 10 that a new organizational structure to better serve customers by operating Otis Elevator and UTC Climate, Controls and Security as stand-alone businesses. Philippe Delpech became president of Otis, and Robert J. McDonough became president of CCS, which includes such brands as Carrier, Transicold, Kidde, Chubb and Edwards. Both executives report directly to UTC President and Chief Executive Officer Gregory Hayes.

3. Cooltech Pioneers Magnetic Refrigeration Systems
During the 24th IIR International Congress of Refrigeration (ICR2015) held in Yokohama from August 16 to 22, JARN seized the opportunity to interview Christian Muller, founder, CEO and CSO, and Vincent Delecourt, director of Sales and Marketing of Cooltech, a French pioneer in magnetic refrigeration that it exhibited during ICR2015.

4. Samsung Dedicates to Exploring Mini-VRF Market in China
Seeing a rapidly growing home decoration market in China, Samsung introduced more cutting edge mini-VRF products. In 2015, Samsung launched new DVM S shooter, FJM mini, and Eco mini-VRF with Wi-Fi control.

5. Johnson Controls Visits Hisense
JCI Chairman Molinaroli noted that he is encouraged by the fast growth of Hisense Hitachi in China during the recent years. Established a joint venture with Hitachi Appliances, JCI will focus on its support to Hisense Hitachi with Hitachi’s world leading VRF technology to increase the market share of Hitachi VRFs in the Chinese market.
