AHRI data show marked growth in the number of unitary air-source heat pump air conditioners. Cumulative shipments of unitary cooling-only and heat pump units for 2014 increased 11.1% over 2013, recording 6,853,650 units. Of these, cooling-only units came to 4,499,660 units, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%, while heat pump units came to 2,353,990 units, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%.
