1. Haier to Scale Up Operations at Pune Plant, India
Chinese appliance giant Haier has announced plans to invest Rs 3.7 billion (about US$ 58 million) in its plant in Pune, western India, to scale up refrigerator manufacturing and commence production of air conditioners, deep freezers, washing machines, LED television panels, and water heaters.

2. ebm-papst Strengthens Global Market Position
The ebm-papst Group is staying on course for global growth.  The primary driver of growth was the Asia region, followed by the Americas and Europe. In its business segments, the company achieved satisfactory growth in six of its eight main sectors, including ventilation and air conditioning, mechanical engineering, refrigeration, transport and household appliances.

3. Trane Holds Seminar in Porto Alegre, Brazil
Trane introduced its innovations in refrigeration systems at a road show for industry professionals held in southern Brazil. The event covered the TVR II VRF system, the future of refrigerants, and wireless automation platforms. It also presented the launch of the RTHE series chiller.

4. Climaveneta Chillers Supplied to the Baptist University in Hong Kong
To reduce running costs and provide better comfort for the students, the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) replaced three reciprocating chillers with Climaveneta’s chillers: one unit of TECS2/SL-CA-E0652 oil free chiller and one screw type chiller CSRAT 2712-B-Y with similar sizes, and one smaller size oil free chiller TECS2/SL-CA-E0512.

5. MHI Develops Next Generation Centrifugal Chillers with HFO-1233zd(E)
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has developed a new series of centrifugal chillers, dubbed the ETI-Z series, adopting a new refrigerant HFO-1233zd(E) that offers outstanding environmental compatibility. This ETI-Z series marks the world’s first small-size centrifugal chillers to adopt the new refrigerant. Models in this new ETI-Z series have a cooling capacity within a range of 80 to 700 RT.
