The United Kingdom is Europe’s largest boiler market. The high initial cost of ATW units has created a challenge for UK market penetration since gas dominates 85% of heating systems. However, heat pumps have received attention as one means of achieving the government’s targets for reducing the effects of climate change. In line with this, the Renew-able Heat Incentive (RHI) for heat pumps got underway in April 2014 to boost demand for the energy-saving equipment.
