1. Recent Trends in Air-cooled Chillers in Japan
About 10 years ago, air-cooled chillers started appearing in new products that use a ‘module chiller’ concept. In this concept, multiple units of small chillers with capacity around 25 RT are connected to meet a variety of capacity and operational requirements. Module chillers were initially developed for the replacement market. Later on, system capacity expanded to a maximum 6,400 hp to reach the capacity range of centrifugal and absorption chillers.

2. Carrier Expands AquaEdge Centrifugal Chiller Family to 3,000 RT
At the China Refrigeration 2015 expo held in Shanghai in April, JARN interviewed two Carrier executives - Ross Shuster, president of BIS Asia, and Robert Chiang, vice president of Engineering, BIS Asia - to hear about Carrier’s HVAC business with special focus on the new joint ventures (JVs) with Midea and TICA as well as the centrifugal chiller business.

3. Financial Assistance for ATA Heat Pumps?
During its latest general meeting, the French Heat Pump Association (AFPAC) indicated that it intends to attempt to persuade the public authorities to reinstate tax incentives for new air-to-air (ATA) heat pumps.
