JARN estimates that the air conditioner market in the United States recorded 2.5% growth over the previous year to reach more than 14.47 million units. U.S. unitary, window, mini-split, and VRF demand in 2014 were an 8% year-on-year growth to 6.62 million units, a 5% decrease to 6.70 million units, an 18.2 % growth to 636,000 units, and 15.6 % growth to 35,000 units, respectively.

2. Air Conditioner & Fan Sales Rise in Vietnam
At electronics stores in Hoh Chi Minh City, demand for air conditioners and fans have recently skyrocketed with the onset of summer. According to the Southern Hydrometeorology Station, the city and southeastern region entered the hot, dry season 10 days earlier than normal, and this weather was forecast to continue until the end of April or early May.

3. Emerson Appoints New President of Asia and Middle East
Emerson Climate Technologies has announced the appointment of Hakan Erdamar to president of Asia and Middle East. In his new post, Mr. Erdamar will supervise all operational affairs for Emerson Climate Technologies including sales, marketing, engineering R&D, production, quality management and financial operations for Asia, Middle East and Africa.

5. Haier Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chillers Receive Large Order
Haier’s centrifugal chillers will be installed at Xinjiang Hami Baonong Trade City, which is a trading center for construction materials with total investment of RMB 1.2 billion (US$ 193 million) and construction area of 388,000 m2.
